In 2015, our founder, Pam Graves, traveled to Jinja, Uganda on a mission trip. What began as a week of service turned into a life-changing calling. She returned home deeply moved by the resilience of the Ugandan people and the urgent needs of their daughters.
Years later, Pam reconnected with missionaries and local friends in Uganda. The statistics were staggering: 8 out of 10 girls forced into marriage before 18, many to men with HIV. Most were pulled from school, sent to work in fields, and denied the chance to dream. Poverty and tradition had trapped a generation.
Pam knew education was the key. If families had resources, boys went to school. Girls stayed behind. So she began raising funds one scholarship at a time to change that story.
What started as Stirring Hope grew into Amina Hope: a ministry built on faith, dignity, and the belief that girls deserve more than survival.
